About Last Night!

About last night! What a wonderful experience it is to find women helping other women and sharing their time and talents with them! For so many reasons our culture tells us that a “me first, it’s all about me” attitude is the way to get what you want out of life. But it’s not. Not even close. That’s not what God intended for our lives and it’s not even a path to happiness.

Living with an, “it’s all about me” philosophy is an extremely empty and lonesome way to live. We were created to live in families and communities, thus a spirit of cooperation where we work and thrive together is what will give us life. It’s what will invigorate us.

This spirit of invigoration is exactly what I experienced last week. As, I set up my shop (for the first time!) and spoke to many of the ladies that came through I was inspired to make sure helping other women and displaying genuine kindness to them is always at the core of what I do. I have to give a shout out to Lynn Wesley Coleman for the amazing job she did with her New Orleans Housewives in the City event at Vessel last week. Every detail was superb! There were so many wonderful vendors and women who connected and shared thoughts and ideas and life stories. That’s what it’s all about for me.

You see, this entire thing, Heart On your Sleeve, is not about me. I started it only after years and years of being absolutely certain that this is what God was leading me to do. For me my work is my calling and communicating messages of love is what I’m being called to do.  My calling may or may not be connected to yours but either way mine won’t stop your shine and yours won’t stop mine.

In God’s realm there is always space for all of us to live our divine path. That means what God has for you is for you and no one can take that away. We need to stop examining where we are based on someone else’s journey. Your path is designed uniquely for you. There’s no one else who can come close to being you. How’s that for competition! There is none because no one can be you better than you.

Don’t believe me yet? Look at your hand. There are millions upon millions of people all over the world yet God designed a fingerprint that is yours and yours alone. Not even your identical twin sister can have your fingerprint. Isn’t it amazing when you think about how precise God’s plans are! He leaves nothing to chance. That means He has not left your life or your purpose to chance. There’s a path and a plan that He’s already mapped out for you. Allow God to order your steps daily. Sink into Him and let Him whisper to your heart.

As you are reading this I am praying for you right now. Pray this prayer with me.

God help me to see what you have planned for me. Help me to see your vision and trust you. Help me to develop your desires as my desires. I want to do what’s pleasing to you. Remove any spirit of jealousy or envy from me. When my sister does something I’ve been longing to do whether it’s marriage, a child, starting or business, a new job or even going on my dream vacation, help me to be happy for her and speak blessings on her. Make me truly comprehend that if two loaves of bread can feed thousands, in God’s economy there’s always going to be enough blessing to go around. Create in me a value and worthiness that is exclusively tied to you and that nothing else competes with you. I pray that any idols are torn down and that no new idols get erected. Lord, I trust and honor you and give you all glory and praise. And ask all these things in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Go about your day today and shine like the child of God and daughter of the King you are. You are more than worthy because you are His child.  Rest assured that He will never leave you and He will never turn His back on you.

much love,

Angele
